Come - A situation where the
player does not yet have a complete hand On
Tilt - Playing wildly or
recklessly usually because the player is emotional upset One Gap - A Texas
hold'em starting hand in which the two cards are two apart in rank Open Pair
- An exposed pair Open
Seat - A chair is available for another player Open End
Straight
- Four consecutive cards where one more consecutive card on the
draw will complete a straight Option - The choice to raise a bet given to a
player with a blind Outs - The cards that will improve a players hand Over the Top
- When the player chooses to raise over the top of another player's
raise Overcard -A players hole card which is higher than any other card on
the board Overpair -A players paired hole cards which is higher than any
other card on the Paint - Another name for a face card Pass - To check or
to drop out instead of betting Passive - A player that checks and
calls hands rather betting and raising hands
- Pat or Pat
Hand - Not drawing any cards in a draw game

Off - Calling a
bet with little expectation of winning unless the opponent is bluffing Penny Ante
- A very low stakes poker game Picked
Off - To get called when you are
bluffing Picture
Card - The cards that have people on them: Jack, Queen and
King Same as Face Card and Paint Pigeon - A very easy player to beat Play

Board - When a
player(s) use all five community cards as their hand Pocket - The two cards
in Texas holdem that only the player can see (Hole Cards) Pocket Rockets - A
pair of Aces as your Pocket Cards (Hole Cards) Poker Face - A players face
that shows no emotions or changes in expression Position - Where a player is
in relation to the dealers button in Texas Holdem Poker (Early, Middle,
Late) Post - To place a Blind bet Pot - The total amount of money bet so
far in a hand which will go to the winning hand Pot Limit - A game where the
maximum bet is determined by the current size of the pot Pot
Odds - A
relationship of how much is in the pot compared to how much is needed to stay in
the game Protected Hand -A hand is Protected when a player is holding them or
put a chip on top of them to prevent a fouled hand Puck - Same as
button Puppy Feet
PUPS - Referring to the suit of Clubs, because they look
like the print of a puppy paw Push - When a new dealer replaces an existing
dealer at a particular table Quads - Four of a kind Rabbit
Hunting - To
look thru the undealt cards and see if one should have played the hand
differently Rack - The tray for transporting chips Ragged - A flop or a
board that does not appear to help anyone out very much Rags -Board cards
generally not worth playing because they are either small or not suited or out
of sequence Rail
- A barrier outside a poker area to keep non players away
from the table Railbird - A person that is a poker spectator, fan, or a
person looking to get in on a table Rainbow - Describes a flop or a complete
board that has so many different suits, that no flush is possible Raise - To
place a bet that increases the stakes for the remaining players Rake - The
amount of money taken out of every pot by the dealer Rank - A card or hand's
value Rap - A check by knocking on the table Read - Trying to determine a
players hand by "Reading" him/her Ring Game - A standard game where players
can come and go as they choose. Not a tournament River - The final card dealt
in Texas Holdem Poker (River Card) Rock - A player that is real tight, only
raising on the best hands, thus is very predictable Round of Betting - When
each player remaining in the game gets a chance to bet, check, raise. A round of
betting ends when the last bet or raise has been called Royal
Flush - An
ace-high straight flush, the best possible hand in Texas Holdem Poker Runner Runner
-A hand made using both of the last two cards dealt Rush - A winning
