one Satellite - A mini tournament to gain an entry into the larger main
tournament Scare Card - A card when drawn will now most certainly turn the

Pair
-when you pair the second highest card on the board Shark
- A very good
player that eats up the poor players(fish) Short Stacked - A
player that does not have many chips compared to the other players Show - To
expose ones cards Showdown - The point in the game where each player shows
their cards to see who is the winner Shuffle - The act of randomly mixing the
cards before a hand Side Pot - When a player in the game runs out of money a
side pot is created so the players with money left can continue. The player out
of money can not win the side pot Small
Blind - The smaller of the two Blinds
that starts off a Texas Holdem pot Speed Limit - Another name for a pair of
five's Split
Pot - A pot that is shared by two or more winners Split Two
Pair
- A player has two pairs, and one of each pair is a community card Stake
- The amount of money a player enters into a game Stay -When a player
remains in the game by calling rather than raising Steal - To win the pot
with what is probably not the best hand, but raising and bluffing cause the
opponent to fold Straight -Five cards in consecutive rank Straight
Flush
-Five cards in consecutive rank, all of the same suit Structured - Describes
games like holdem which has fixed betting structures Stub - The portion of
the deck which has not been dealt Suit - Any of the four sets of 13 in a deck
(clubs, diamonds, hearts, spades) Suited - Cards are of the same
suit Table
Charge -A fee paid for playing at a table Table
Stakes - A
standard rule stating that a player can only bet with the chips he or she has on
the table during a hand. More chips may be bought between hands Tapped Out -
To lose all of ones money Tell - Any type of mannerisms a player unknowing
does to reveal the strength of their hand Thirty
Miles - Another name for
three tens Three of a
Kind -Three cards with the same number, or face
value Tight - A way of playing were few hands are played, only playing
premium hands Tilt - To play wildly, with little caution. Not playing your
best Time - Asking to suspend play, to have a moment to decide what to do
next Toke - A small amount of money given to the dealer from the wining pot
as a tip Top Pair - When a player has a hole card that pairs up with the
highest card on the board Tournament - A competition where normally the chips
